About Our Club |
Survey after survey shows that presentation skills are crucial to success in the workplace. Many people pay high fees for seminars to gain the skill and confidence. Moreover, with employers constantly going through downsizing, communication and leadership skills are becoming more critical and often differentiating factors in severance decisions. Merck West Point Toastmasters is a corporate club tied to Toastmasters International dedicated to getting people these skills and confidence.
With a minimal membership fee, we deliver sustaining results in improving members' communication and leadership skills by providing a warm and supportive learning oriented gym of voice. Our promise is to serve member's upskilling needs.
We meet twice a month on Merck Upper Gwynedd or West Point campus. As a corporate club, this club is only open to Merck employees, contractors, and retirees.
Merck employees may discuss development needs with their managers and obtain sponsorship for reimbursement of the membership fee as part of their development plans or as a professional membership.
Merck West Point Toastmasters Club is recognized as a Distinguished club from Toastmasters International last year. Currently, 27 active members are benefiting from the proven methods of the Toastmasters program, and the number is constantly growing. |

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
